As we get older, we don’t necessarily lust after that perfect beach body – but is that because we can’t, don’t want to – or in honesty, don’t believe we can do it? Like many of us, I am practically a professional at sabotaging/putting off a dream and can come up with a slew of reasons why something won’t work. Thankfully, I am able to kick myself in the butt with my one secret weapon ….my “Can I Do My Dream Checklist”.
A dream is a dream because it hasn’t happened yet – but most of us already have all the qualities it takes to achieve it – only not always where we are looking.
So, Doer; Get Ready, Set, GO!
1. What are the top ten Qualities you think you need to get the job done?
2. Where in your life do you already have these qualities? (think work, parenting, social situations, spiritual commitment, exercise and training, gardening …no stopping till you find ’em)
3. Why do you want it? Your true why is often more revealing than whatso search deeply.
4. How might my life be worse by achieving this goal?
5. How might your life be better by achieving this goal?
6. What are the elements of the dream that truly appeal and where else in life can they be found?
7. What are the three things you can do TODAY to achieve this goal
8. What will people think about you once you achieve this goal
9. What will you think about yourself NOT achieving your goal
10. What do you teach your children or offer the world by achieving this goal?
11. Who is a great role model of this dream? (if they can, you can!)
Feeling inspired or lack lustre? Feel closer to the truth of your dream? If you feel charged up, Inspire yourself every day by reading and redefining the answers to these questions and you’ll be a Doer in no time!
