What a powerful weekend! International Woman’s Day and The Sydney Mardi Gras! I love that both events are a celebration of pride and personal power. And if anything can be challenging to maintain in this busy world …. it’s personal power!
If you feel like your own power could do with a little stoking, hit your body and your mind with these FOUR tips and let me know how you go. I’ve been loving (and appreciating) your feedback and know you’ll find them useful.
Power Wake Up and Work Out
- Stretch out your calves then Skip for 2-5 mins
- 2 minutes Side gallops – both directions
- 20 burpees (I know!! But they are great, and they can be modified using step in and outs if need be)
- Side Plank for 60 seconds each side
- Repeat Skip
- Repeat gallops
- Repeat burpees (15 this time)
- Repeat side planks
- Stretch your glutes, hamstrings, quads, chest and back
- Sit/lie and breathe deeply for up to 5 minutes (set an alarm so you don’t have to worry about time)
Part 1. Rolled Oats with water, lecithin, LSA, dash of cinnamon and salt, topped off with a sprinkle of brown sugar and soya milk. For even more boost – add a mashed banana, chopped nuts and finely chopped apple. Drink 2 glasses of water
Part 2. a little bit later …. Follow up with a boiled egg (or your favourite protein) and a few almonds to keep the energy levels up till lunch time. Keep up the water.
We all know the importance of our thoughts, and how frustrating it can be to change stubborn old thoughts. Just for today – suspend any disbelief you might have about the power of your mind and decide to think powerfully and presently about something important to you. It might just be a simple mantra of calm like “I am calm, relaxed and in control of my day”. It might be something you’d like to specifically improve like: “I am an excellent, inspired communicator”. Be persistent today and use notes and reminders to keep the mantra present in your conscious mind.
Walk your Power Thought and be conscious of what your walk says about you today. I’m pretty sure that I’m not always the picture of serenity I think I am as I go about my day – and there is nothing wrong with knocking off a quick Facebook post as you dash to work! (guilty!). But are you walking like a winner? Notice what kind of energy you are putting out there and how you actually ‘feel’ when you walk. If you don’t feel anything at all – then think about how’d you’d like to feel and incorporate some of that!
Have an amazing week,
Love to you all
